Tech Mahindra and Jaipur Literature Festival Launch Global India Book Prize to Celebrate Books on India

Tech Mahindra has become one of the latest developments in the literature sphere after having partnered with Jaipur Literature Festival in starting Tech Mahindra Global India Book Prize, an international book prize recognizing literary books that help increase awareness about India at the global level.

The objective behind the creation of Tech Mahindra Global India Book Prize is to recognize people who have demonstrated exceptional commitment towards literary works that offer unique insights into the complexity, diversity, culture, and increasing importance of India in the global arena. The award will be offered to either Indian or international literary writers making exceptional literary, intellectual, and cultural contributions to the discourses surrounding India.

Entries will come from the fields of fiction, non-fiction, history, biography, business, science, culture, and public affairs that are written in English during the past one year.

The Tech Mahindra Global India Book Prize is a project that will be sustained for a long period of time. Its objective is to enable cross-culture discussions through books shaping the discourses surrounding India.

Discussing the start of the initiative, Mohit Joshi, CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra, stressed the impact of books on forming people's views and understanding complicated issues. The executive pointed out that, since the pace of change in the technological sphere is tremendous, the literary sector is considered an opportunity to explore the key achievements in society, culture, and technology.

Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, expressed his opinion that the award would become an incentive for literary works written about India due to the complexity of the issue. The expert is hoping that the prize would motivate the creation of literature exploring India's position in the modern world based on its past, present, and future experiences.

In line with its corporate values and principles, the company is trying to encourage the implementation of platforms and initiatives promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and inclusive growth. Thus, the cooperation with the Jaipur Literature Festival would help the company make the literary award the most recognizable one for those books exploring India.
